A complete do-it-yourself upgrade kit that finally fixes the terrible factory cup holders found in the BMW E39 (1997–2003).

Older German cars are known for having poorly designed cup holders — and the E39 is one of the worst examples.
This redesigned cup holder set solves every major problem with the OEM version:

OEM cups tip over easily → This design is strong and stable

OEM cups hit the dashboard controls → This one does NOT block buttons

OEM location confuses the climate control sensor → This design prevents temperature errors

OEM buckets are too shallow → These holders grip deeper and more securely

OEM position interferes with gear shifting → This design does NOT interfere with driving

This kit has been tested in real E39 cars and works exceptionally well, both functionally and visually.

You receive all 3D-printed components required to assemble the cup holder:

Main dual-cup frame

Bottom support columns

Side mounting bracket

Additional reinforcement bracket

This is a DIY assembly kit, meaning you personalize and assemble it yourself for the best fit and finish.
No rubber pieces are included, since they must be custom-cut to your desired tightness (explained below).

⭐ Rubber “Petals” – User-Customizable Grip System (Read This!)

The design uses rubber petals inside each cup holder to keep drinks stable and silent.

Since every user prefers a different cup fit, these petals are not pre-made.

How to make them:

Use ANY soft rubber sheet (rubber mat, silicone sheet, anti-slip pad, etc.)

Cut 6 petals (or any number you prefer)

Attach 5 petals with small screws, glue the 6th

Shape/size can be customized based on your drink containers

The system allows tighter or looser grip depending on your preference

These rubber inserts dramatically improve cup stability and eliminate rattling.

This product is professionally 3D-printed with precise tolerances.

However, like all 3D-printed parts:

Minor layer lines may be visible

Some small marks from supports may remain

For a PERFECT, OEM-style finish, it is recommended to lightly sand and optionally paint the part

Wrapping in leather or vinyl is also possible (as shown in community photos)

This gives a premium look that blends seamlessly with the E39 interior.

⭐ Installation Notes

Based on community feedback and original designer tips:

Strengthen the side bracket using the included reinforcement piece

Use strong double-sided tape (e.g., 3M VHB) if you want extra stability

Add soft foam under the support legs to protect wood trim

Test-fit all parts before final gluing

Rubber petals must be custom-cut by the user

Optional: Wrap with leather for a factory OEM look

Installation requires basic DIY skills — no advanced tools needed.
